Description:
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) offers doctoral research grants to fund research activities leading to the award of a doctoral degree. In 2025, 1,550 grants will be awarded, distributed as follows:
- 1,000 grants in the General Application Line, for research in an academic environment
- 550 grants in the Specific Line in a Non-Academic Environment, for research in non-academic institutions
Eligibility:
- Candidates enrolled, or who meet the conditions necessary to enroll, in a study cycle leading to the award of the academic degree of doctor (fct.pt)
- Candidates who intend to carry out research activities leading to the award of this degree in any national or international academic organization for the production and dissemination of knowledge.
- For the Specific Line in a Non-Academic Environment, it is necessary that the work plan takes place mainly in one or more non-academic entities, with at least 12 months of research in these institutions
