Scholarship amount:

  • Students with an entrance grade between 160 and 179 points: 1,000 to 2,000 euros.
  • Students with an entry score of 180 or more and proven economic hardship: Total exemption from tuition fees.

Description:
The University of Coimbra Merit Scholarship is designed to reward international students with excellent academic performance. The program seeks to attract talent from different parts of the world, offering financial aid according to performance in the entrance classification and the applicant’s economic situation.

Eligibility

  • Have been admitted through the special admission process for international students or transfer.
  • Have international student status at the time of enrollment.
  • Obtain a minimum entrance grade of 140 points (without rounding, on a scale of 0-200).
  • For the extraordinary merit scholarship, proof of economic hardship is required.

How to apply:

  1. Apply for the undergraduate or integrated master’s degree courses through the University of Coimbra’s online application system.
  2. After receiving the admission letter, submit the scholarship application, including:
  • Academic transcript;
  • Motivation letter;
  • Letters of recommendation;
  • Proof of economic status (if applicable).
