Description: The general objective of the Erasmus+ Programme is to strengthen the European dimension in higher education by prioritising all initiatives in connection with student, teacher and staff mobility. Since its creation in 1987, the programme has allowed some 1.5 million young Europeans (including 217,000 French students) to travel to another European country for their studies. Each year, over 350 students from the University of Rennes receive an Erasmus+ grant and about a hundred staff members go on a mobility programme using European funding. The University of Rennes has set itself the target of increasing the number of students on physical, virtual and hybrid mobility by 50% by 2030. This goal is also objectif at the very heart of the EDUC European University project.

Eligibility:

  • Students selected for study mobility are systematically entitled to a mobility grant if their parents’ social index (combined gross income/tax unit) is less than or equal to €25,000.
  • The French institution organises the exchange with one of its partner institutions. Students therefore remain registered with their home institution and the period of studies is based on a tripartite agreement (study contract) between the student, the home institution (University of Rennes) and the host institution (where the mobility is being carried out). Registration fees are paid in France and are waived in the host institution.
  • All students duly registered with the University of Rennes in at least the second year of the Bachelor’s Degree (subject to the agreement of the academic unit) can apply for an Erasmus+ mobility programme, whatever their nationality.
