Description: The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) is a German political foundation associated with social democracy, established in 1925. Its scholarship program has been supporting students for decades, providing them with financial support and non-material assistance. The aim is to empower talented students who show both academic excellence and socio-political engagement, preparing them to become changemakers in their communities.particularly gifted students from countries in the Global South (Asia, Africa, Latin America), post-Soviet states as well as eastern and south-eastern European (EU) countries. The candidates’ aptitudes and personalities show excellent promise for an academic or professional career. Students or doctoral candidates from OECD countries are not eligible for funding. Moreover, candidates are expected to show commitment to the values of social democracy.
Eligibility:
- Confirmation of study place or certificate of enrollment at a state or state-recognized German university or technical college for the course for which they want to be funded
- Foreign applicants must also demonstrate sufficient German language skills
- First-year students (Germans and foreign students with education) must apply before or at the beginning of the first semester.
- Special priority groups, including:
-Women
-First-generation university students
-Students from immigrant backgrounds
-STEM students (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
-Students at universities of applied sciences
