Description: For exceptionally gifted international students from outside the EU/EEA who wish to study a Master’s degree at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) 2026 offers a distinguished opportunity. The goal of this scholarship is to draw in the best students from around the globe and encourage diversity in the university’s global classrooms. This award is given out annually by the UvA Amsterdam Law School to deserving students who exhibit exceptional academic ability, leadership potential, and a desire to use their education to change the world.
Eligibility:
- Possess a passport that is not from the EU or EEA and are therefore ineligible for Dutch financial aid (Studiefinanciering).
- Be submitting an application for the first time to a UvA master’s program (those who currently have a UvA master’s degree are not eligible).
- Be able to fulfill all of the Immigration and Naturalization Service’s (IND) requirements for a Dutch visa.
- Be enrolled in full time classes for the 2026–2027 academic year.
