Scholarship value: The Foundation awards complete scholarships to students that cover the entire duration of the program.

Description: The Heinrich Böll Foundation is the Green political foundation. Every year, under the heading “promoting talent”, the foundation supports around 1,450 students and 200 doctoral students from all academic backgrounds and types of higher educational institutions in Germany and abroad. Each year, up to 250 new scholarship recipients join the programme.

The scholarship is geared to particularly gifted students from Germany and abroad. Applicants from any discipline and higher education institution are eligible for funding: talented students showing excellent promise for future academic and professional careers. Moreover, applicants show involvement in line with the values of green policy.

Eligibility:

• Be enrolled in or about to enroll in a reputable German institution, such as a university of applied sciences (“Fachhochschule”) or a university of the arts (“Kunst-/Musikhochschule”).
• Has a stellar academic record.
• Be politically and socially involved (actively interested in the foundation’s ideals).
• Show that you are fluent in German (minimum “DSH 2” or “TestDaF” level B2 for many applications).
• Only use the HBS portal to submit the application online.
