Description: International fee-paying students admitted to full-time, first-year degree studies starting in September 2026 will receive $10,000 for their first-year studies. The International Student Entrance Scholarship aims to reduce the first-year tuition burden for high-achieving international undergraduate students, helping them access and afford a University of Waterloo education.The university uses this award to recruit and enroll highly qualified international students from around the world, strengthening its academic community and global reputation.

Eligibility:

• You need to be enrolled full-time (three or more courses) in your first and second terms at Waterloo.
• You need to continue to be an international fee-paying student. If your residency status changes either before or during the term, and/or if you’re no longer required to pay the higher international study permit tuition fees, you’ll no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship.
• The scholarship is not available to the following students.

-Medical Sciences (Waterloo) and Doctor of Medicine (St. George’s University) students

-Bachelor of Social Work, Doctor of Optometry, Doctor of Pharmacy students

-Transfer students admitted with transfer credits.

-Students who deferred their admission from September 2025 to September 2026.

-Students enrolled in a 2+2 and other similar x+y programs.
