Description: The President’s Scholarship for World Leaders (Graduate) is given to international students entering a University of Winnipeg graduate program for the first time. Applicants must have a minimum 80% admission average or equivalent and must be involved in activities that demonstrate leadership. Qualifying year or Pre-Masters students do not qualify.

The University of Winnipeg (UWinnipeg, UW, or U of W) is a public research university in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It offers undergraduate programs in art, business, economics, education, science and applied health as well as graduate programs. UWinnipeg’s founding colleges were Manitoba College and Wesley College, which merged to form United College in 1938. The University of Winnipeg was established in 1967 when United College received its charter.

Eligibility:

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an international student.
  • Must be a student entering their first program at UWinnipeg.
  • Must have the equivalent of a Canadian 80% grade average, based on Grade 12 academic courses used for admission. UWinnipeg International Credential Evaluators will complete grade conversions.

-PACE applicants will be assessed based on their post-secondary transcripts as applicable.

  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities.
  • Completed an admission application to UWinnipeg by the scholarship deadline.

-The application for admission is complete only when the admissions office has received all application fees and supporting documentation.

  • Must be registered and maintain full-time course load.
  • Qualifying year or Pre-Masters students do not qualify.
