Scholarship value: You’ll receive a stipend scholarship of $33,637 per annum for a maximum duration of 3.5 years while undertaking a QUT PhD. The duration includes an extension of up to 6 months (PhD) if approved for your candidature. This is the full-time, tax-exempt rate which will index annually


The scholarships are funded internally by QUT.

One scholarship will be available for candidates wishing to pursue a PhD in one of the projects listed below. The projects will commence in 2024.


To apply for this scholarship, you must meet the entry requirements for a QUT Doctor of Philosophy, including any English language requirements for international students.

The essential criteria for the scholarship include:

  • meet the academic and English language entry requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy (IF49)
  • have a first-class honours (H1) qualification or equivalent
  • have research interests that align with the relevant topics listed
  • propose a research topic that reflects an interest in social justice.
